Principal's Message

Welcome to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Primary School, Coorparoo. A place where faith, learning, and community come together to help every child flourish. It is my great joy to extend a warm welcome to all students, families, staff, and visitors who join us on this journey.

Since 1941, Our Lady of Mount Carmel has been shaped by a rich tapestry of charisms of the Carmelite Order, the Missionary Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, and the Loreto Sisters. Their legacy continues to inspire our mission today. Guided by our school motto, “By prayer and action we follow Christ,” we strive to be a community that is welcoming, inclusive, and grounded in compassion, faith, and service.

At OLMC, we believe in nurturing the whole child - academically, spiritually, socially, and personally. Our dedicated educators foster a love of lifelong learning, encouraging students to embrace curiosity, think deeply, and strive for excellence. We recognise that every child brings unique gifts, experiences, and backgrounds, and we are committed to supporting each learner to reach their full potential and grow into confident, capable, and caring individuals.

Faith is at the heart of our school. We provide a Catholic education that helps students develop a deep understanding of Gospel values and a strong moral foundation. Through prayer, reflection, and meaningful opportunities for service, our children learn what it means to live with kindness, respect, and a genuine commitment to others.

Beyond the classroom, our school community is vibrant and diverse. Students are encouraged to explore their interests and talents through a wide range of co‑curricular opportunities - including sport, instrumental music, gifted and talented competitions, choir, debating, STEM challenges, robotics, creative arts, student-led workshops, leadership and more. These experiences help shape well-rounded learners who are confident, resilient, and ready to embrace the world with enthusiasm.
